WHAT IS CBD
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of at least 113 cannabinoids found in the plant Cannabis Sativa L. along with a more well known cannabinoid called Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which we have all heard about.
CBD is unique because it does not create an intoxicating or high feeling like THC but it does show a vast number of medical benefits and uses.
WHAT ARE PHYTOCANNABINOIDS?
Phytocannabinoids are naturally occurring cannabinoids found “within” the cannabis plant. CBD is referred to as a phytocannabinoid simply because it exists naturally in a cannabis plant along with at least 113 other cannabinoids including THC, CBN, CBG, CBC among others. Its worth noting that CBD can also be made synthetically in a lab – although it is cheaper, it is argued to have fewer medical benefits than natural plant CBD.
Tetrahydrocannabinol – better known as THC and is one of the more prominent cannabinoids found in Marijuana. Of course, this one makes you high.
Cannabidiol – better known as CBD is one of at least 113 cannabinoids discovered showing much medical promise. This one does not make you high.
THC and CBD are the most well known cannabinoids but pay attention to other cannabinoids coming up the rank like CBN (Cannabinol), CBG (Cannabigerol), and CBC (Cannabichromene).
